In a chat with Busted Open Radio, he said, “I think I have the advantage. Across the board, I don’t see where he has the advantage in any kind of match. Goldberg is Goldberg and will always be Goldberg. He comes out there and destroys people, but I almost see this match as the passing of the guard.”
Later in the interview, Lashley also revealed how this match will affect him in the long run. Lashley feels it’s his time now and Goldberg will pass the torch over to him.

“I think, ultimately, it’s my time and he’s passing that Goldberg torch over to me where it’s now the Lashley torch and it’s Lashley that comes back to take out the champion in years to come,” Lashley added. (h/t: 411Mania)
How did this rivalry between Bobby Lashley and Goldberg get so personal?
Lashley took on Goldberg at WWE SummerSlam 2021. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, the match got called off as Goldberg could not continue because of an injury that he suffered during the match. Soon after that, Bobby Lashley assaulted the WWE Hall of Famer with a steel chair.
Unable to bear that, Goldberg’s son jumped in the ring to save his father. This rivalry took an ugly turn then when Lashley locked Goldberg’s son into the Hurt Lock.
