Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy—Is this the best twist WWE has pulled off in years?

As WWE heads towards the second biggest PLE of the year, SummerSlam, tensions rise with each developing storyline. Rhea Ripley made her return and was set to address the ongoing Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio relationship. Meanwhile, Damian Priest and Gunther were set to build up the hype for the title match at SummerSlam. Drew McIntyre and CM Punk were also set to develop their story, with Seth Rollins also wanting a piece of the Second City Saint. This episode of WWE RAW would also see Sami Zayn face Ilja Dragunov for the Intercontinental title. With Bron Breakker wanting in on the action, the stakes were high. Also, Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks still lurked around the arena. Here are the results for WWE RAW from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.

WWE RAW 15/07/2024 Results

Video package: The storyline between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley was played to catch fans up to speed on what was happening from the start until Ripley’s return.

In-ring segment: Rhea Ripley opened the show and addressed the Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio issue. She claimed that she would deal with Mysterio later, but first, she wanted Morgan. Dirty Dom came out to apologize to Mami, but that didn’t work until Morgan showed up on the Titantron. The WWE Women’s World Champion claimed she understood what Mami saw in Dom. Ripley challenged Morgan for a title match at SummerSlam. Mami claimed that she would end Morgan’s title reign and her revenge tour at the PLE.

Backstage segment: Dom was seen still trying to apologize to Ripley. Dom planned a surprise for Mami as they entered the JD Clubhouse, which didn’t go over well. Damian Priest came over and asked if everything was okay, to which Dom said no.

Sheamus vs. Bronson Reed

Winner: Sheamus 

Sheamus had a new theme as he faced Bronson Reed. Both men were equally matched despite the size difference. Reed was able to take control, with Sheamus trying to get in some defense. Reed got the upper hand, only for Sheamus to counter and pick up a surprise victory.

Post-match: Reed aimed to blindside Sheamus as he celebrated his victory. However, Pete Dunne took out Reed. As Sheamus tried to extend his hand to Dunne, he walked away. Unsure of what was going on, Dunner attacked Sheamus. Unfortunately, this left Reed to finish his attack on the Celtic Warrior.

Backstage segment: Ripley thanked Priest for holding Judgment Day together in her absence. She even asked why Carlito was with them. Dom came forward to try to talk to her, but only to get yelled at.

Backstage segment: Ilja Dragunov thanked Sami Zayn for the title match and asked him to give it his best.

Zelina Vega vs. Sonya Deville

Winner: Sonya Deville

The match was short, thanks to Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler, who were ringside. Despite getting the upper hand, Baszler ensured Deville picked up a quick win on Vega.

Post-match: The trio began a beatdown on Vega before Kayden Carter, Lyra Valkyria, and Katana Chance came in for the save.

Backstage segment: Dom asked Priest why he didn’t warn him about Ripley’s return. As Priest explained it Jey Uso came by asking if Ripley was single.

In-ring segment: Damian Priest addressed his match against Gunther at SummerSlam. He called out the Ring General to the ring. Gunther came out, and the two had a heated back and forth, which got personal.

Backstage segment: Chad Gable told Adam Pearce that he figured out Uncle Howdy was Bo Dallas and he was ready to call him out to the ring.

Backstage segment: Jey Uso gets set in a match against Dominik Mysterio. Bron Breakker came by asking why he isn’t in a match for the IC title. Adam Pearce had him escorted out of the venue.

Damian Priest vs. Brun Strowman

Winner: Damian Priest

While Strowman showcased his strength, Priest was all brains. He outsmarted the Monster Among Men. Preist showed why he was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion with a massive South of Heaven on Strowman for the win.

Post-match: Gunther came down to the ring as Priest celebrated his win. The two squared off, and Gunther had to retreat as Priest stood tall.

Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler vs. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance

Winner: Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler

While the match started out simple, it quickly became chaotic, with every woman going for each other. Thanks to Deville, the match ended with Stark and Baszler winning.

In-ring segment: Adam Pearce was in the ring and called out Drew McIntyre. Pearce announced McIntyre vs. Punk at SummerSlam. However, Pearce wanted McIntyre to apologize to the referees he attacked at MITB. The Scottish Warrior did not, and Preace announced he was still suspended. Before McIntyre could lose it even more, Seth Rollins came out.

Uncle Howdy VHS Tape: The latest edition of the VHS Tape played. This time, Eric Rowan talked about losing Bray Wyatt and Brodie Lee. He also talked about being lost and how Howdy presumably helped him.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Jey Uso

Winner: Jey Uso

Dirty Dom attacked Uso before the bell could ring. Taking advantage, he kept the pressure on Mr. Yeet. However, Uso was able to turn the tide, and Morgan got involved once again. Furthermore, Ripley came out to get her hands on Morgan, which sent her running. This let Mr. Yeet hit the Spear, followed by the Uso Splash for the win.

In-ring segment: Chad Gable came out to call out Bo Dallas. As Dallas came out, he was attacked by The Creed Brothers. As the trio assaulted Dallas in the ring, he began laughing, which scared Gable. The lights went out, and the Wyatt Sicks came out to play. Gable and the Creed Brothers escaped while Dallas paid tribute to Bray Wyatt. He also paid tribute to Brodie Lee with “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.”

Main Event: Intercontinental Championship match: Sami Zayn vs. Ilja Dragunov

Winner: Sami Zayn retains due to disqualification

The match was fast-paced, and both men were equally matched. Dragunov was focused and kept the pressure on Zayn. The underdog champion seemed like his time was up. Nevertheless, Breakker came out and took out both men, causing a disqualification.
