Birthday Wish Goes Horribly Wrong as Top Star Regrets Wishing Rhea Ripley on Her Birthday: “Dumb Dumb, Better Stop Teaching Her Spanish”

The Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley celebrated her 27th birthday this Wednesday. Many superstars sent greetings on her special day. Speaking of which, a top star in WWE also sent her warm wishes, but the star soon regretted doing so.

The top star in question is none other than Mami’s Backlash opponent, Zelina Vega. She called ‘The Eradicator’ to wish her a happy birthday but got a very obscene reply from the birthday girl. Scroll down to find out how Ripley responded to Vega’s birthday wish.

Did Rhea Ripley really cuss at Zelina Vega?

Zelina Vega recently went to her Instagram account to share a video of herself wishing Ripley. Vega called Ripley, and the latter picked up. After hearing a “Hello” from Ripley, she proceeded to greet the birthday girl and said, “feliz cumpleaños p*ta” which translates to “Happy birthday b*tch”

Ripley responded by saying, “Hahaha… Gracias” followed by a few profanities in Spanish. While it is unsure what ‘Mami’ said exactly, the looks on Vega and her husband Malakia Black‘s face were enough to paint the picture that Ripley used swear words.

Vega instantly regretted calling Ripley as she hurried to cut the call after the latter used swear words on camera. Perhaps Ripley had no idea Vega was recording at the time. The two stars share quite a history as they faced each other at Backlash earlier this year in May.

Are Ripley and Vega friends?

Ripley and Vega went head to head at WWE Backlash held in Puerto Rico for the SmackDown Women’s Championship (now Women’s World Championship). Vega failed to capture the title but won the hearts of the WWE Universe. She even received a standing ovation from her hometown crowd after the match.

The rivalry was a bitter one, as both the superstars had something to prove. Ripley did end up on top and even boasted about her victory afterward. But that was all kayfabe. In real life, the two stars seem to be good friends, just by the fact that they can talk openly with each other without any hesitation.

Vega’s recent post is an extreme of how deep their friendship runs. A stranger wouldn’t use swear words to address you when you’re wishing them a happy birthday.
