Vince McMahon was a visionary in how he took WWE from a territory-based business to a global organization. McMahon also ran his company with an iron fist during his reign as chairman. One of the key components of his success was his ability to build new stars over the years. Although the ex-WWE CEO has had his issues with some wrestlers who worked for him, The Mac Daddy always knew how to take care of his top stars.

One of the biggest stars McMahon created in his long tenure in WWE was Brock Lesnar. The former NCAA Champion received a monstrous push in the company right after his debut. Only a few months later, he captured the WWE Championship by beating The Rock at SummerSlam.
McMahon had found his new star for a new era and did everything to promote him as such. ‘The Beast’ revealed that as the top star, he had to be on every show. This required the company to spend large sums to have him travel by air across the country. The amount was significant, but it was something McMahon was willing to pay.
Vince McMahon paid a whopping $175,000 a year for Lesnar’s travels
Vince McMahon had his own ways of dealing with those who worked for him all these years. Some labeled him as an eccentric boss, others called him a genius. Many wrestlers also have McMahon to thank for their fame and money over the years.
For McMahon, his wrestlers were his assets that he was going to look after with care. McMahon pushed Brock Lesnar to the moon when he made his debut. ‘The Beast’ became the company’s poster boy in a short period of time.
However, in his autobiography, the ‘Death Clutch’, Lesnar revealed that he wasn’t a big fan of always on-the road life of a pro wrestler. He said he couldn’t get time off during his run as the top guy which he desperately needed. To work his way around the problem, Lesnar thought of reducing traveling hassles. He thought he could avoid the long lines at the airport and all other tumults which could make things slightly better.
Moreover, he added that the company spent a whopping $175,000 a year on his travels alone. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ wrote, “I ran the numbers, and I found out it was costing Vince about $175,000 a year to fly me all over the country. The international tours were a different story, but just the domestic travel was somewhere between $150,000 and $175,000.”
He said that this prompted him to buy his own private jet, which eased off the burden on the company and his life too.

Although McMahon was a billionaire at that time, this is still a large amount of money to fork out to cover a single wrestler’s travel expenses. Gladly, for him, Lesnar came up with the perfect solution. This made it a win-win situation for both of them.
