The Big Show announced that he wants to fight Shaquille O’Neal four years after their clash at WrestleMania 32.

The giants confronted each other at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. However, there was no definitive feud between the two behemoths, despite the rumor mill signalling a potential bout.

Neither of them lasted long in the battle royal as the other Superstars in the ring eliminated them. It was Shaquille O’Neal who challenged The Big Show for a future rematch.

While Shaq’s elimination was a bummer for NBA fans, those couple of minutes of him in the ring were extremely entertaining. The presence of the NBA giant in the ring with the WWE behemoth provided the amusement factor the event needed.

WWE had planned to bring both of them together for a grander fight at WrestleMania 33. Unfortunately, that did not go through and the company scrapped the idea.

According to Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer, WWE and Shaquille O’Neal could not find common grounds to move forward with the fight.

“Both sides blame the other when it came to Shaquille and WWE. WWE always said that like he would talk like he wanted to do it, but he never agreed to do it. WWE also said that he wouldn’t train and it was always out of shape. Shaquille also said that they promised him an amount of money, but they never put it down, so he never got the offer that they said.”

The NBA Legend might move to AEW

Now, AEW might make moves to get Shaquille O’Neal on board.

On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Jade Cargill debuted when Cody Rhodes was in the middle of a segment. During this segment, Cargill approached him, claiming that Rhodes should put his money where his mouth is and challenge a true giant.
