It has only been a week since Dominik Mysterio won his first singles title in WWE and he is already receiving threats. On the July 19 edition of WWE NXT, he beat Wes Lee and won the North American Championship. He had a little help from his Judgement Day companions, who provided a distraction for him to capitalize and win.

Could Rey Mysterio steal the North American Championship from Dominik Mysterio?

On a recent episode of WWE The Bump podcast, Rey Mysterio appeared as the special guest for the show. During the interview, he said that he will gladly take away the North American Championship from his son’s waist if he gets to do it.

“He just better not step in the ring with me because I will take that North American Title” was the exact set of words he used to convey a message to the newly crowned North American Champion. This can be a potential hint of the title changing shoulders in the near future.

Nevertheless, papa Mysterio was incredibly happy with his son’s accomplishments. He even congratulated ‘The Young Mysterio.’

During the interview, the Luchador legend also congratulated his son on winning his first singles gold in the Stamford-based promotion. He mentioned he feels extremely proud of what Dom-Dom is doing in WWE. It brings him joy to see how far his son has come on his wrestling journey and how accomplished he has become as a wrestler.
