Beth Phoenix hasn’t lost her touch in the ring even though she retired from active in-ring competition years ago. At Elimination Chamber teaming with her husband Edge, she had an awesome match against Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley. Going toe-to-toe against Ripley is no easy task, but she brought the spirit of a Japanese legend to bring the ‘Brutality’ on The Judgement Day.

Beth Phoenix shares details about the tribute to wrestling legend
Phoenix face-painted herself to pay tribute to Bull Nakano, who wrestled in WWE from 1994 to 1995. Similar to The Glamazon, Nakano was a powerful women wrestler who shocked the WWE fans with her strength. Phoenix’s tribute impressed the 55-year-old legend. A Twitter page, Dark Puroresu Flowsion, shared her thoughts over the tribute by the WWE Hall of Famer at Elimination Chamber.
Nakano said, “She did it perfectly. She looks better than me. It was in 1994 that I came America with this paint. 29 years ago from now. Everyone remembers & I’m happy about it. I am 55 now. I hope people will always remember Bull Nakano.”
The Glamazon was quick to reply as she tweeted, “.@BULLNAKANO_ broke international barriers to bring the beauty and brutality of Japanese women’s wrestling to America. We will always remember you because you’ll always be a part of us. @WWE.”

Wrestling fans widely remembered Nakano for her impactful wrestling career in All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling. Moreover, her feud with Alundra Blayze over the WWE Women’s title is also popular among the WWE fanbase.
The 55-year-old retired from in-ring competition in 1997. In an interview with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Nakano said she would love to get inducted by Vince McMahon into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The Glamazon almost missed a spot at the Elimination Chamber
The Grit Couple took the win at the Elimination Chamber in an amazing match. However, due to not wrestling regularly, Phoenix missed a spot that was caught by several viewers. The spot was when Balor made a cover to attempt a pin on The Rated R superstar. She had to break the pin. However, the former Women’s champion was a little late to react and almost missed it.

The referee was about to count three when Phoenix broke the pin. If the ref could have counted three, the match was over. But we can say the presence of mind from the referee kind of saved the spot.
