Johnny Gargano bid goodbye to his WWE family and universe in a promo on NXT 2.0 last night. After WarGames and an emotional moment, everyone was curious to see what comes next for the former NXT champion.

In a heartfelt promo, Johnny cut an emotional set that revealed he would take a break from NXT.

He told the fans that he regrets nothing but didn’t enjoy his NXT run more. He thanked them for helping him live his dream and always supporting him.

Regarding his future, he said, “I don’t know what my immediate future holds; that’s up in the air now still, I may do some things here and there,”

“In February, I’m going to start the most important job of my life because I’m going to be a dad,” Gargano said.

“He’s going to watch this back one day and thank you all, but I’m so excited for that because I’m going to love that little guy so much, but right now, the most important thing for me is to worry about Candice and show my son he can be the best man he can be.” [h/t  Comicbook.com]

What a heartfelt promo! Everyone in that arena and at home, watching it, could feel Johnny’s emotions and how important NXT is to him.

Fans react to Johnny Gargano

Being the fan-favorite, Gargano stirred up many people’s emotions through his words. Many reacted to his promo, including WWE superstars.

After NXT went off-air, Shawn Michaels came out to the ring and hugged Johnny.

The former North American champion, Leon Ruff, shared a picture of him in a stand-off with Johnny and said,Thank you, @JohnnyGargano it was a literal dream to share the ring with you.”

Performance Centre wrestling coach Matt Bloom also had a few things to say about Johnny Wrestling.

A fan shared pictures of him with his former DIY partner and arch-enemy, Kyle O’Reilly, shared a moment in the ring.

AEW superstar Malakai Black showed his appreciation on Instagram.

Candice LeRae on Instagram said, “It was always about the journey.”

However, one of the most anticipated questions in the wrestling world is: will Johnny leave WWE? The answer will be evident in the coming weeks, but we should be grateful to have witnessed greatness as fans. Gargano is a gem, and wrestlers like him are scarce.
