In a short time since his debut on SmackDown on May 19, WWE star Grayson Waller has captured the fans’ attention. However, it’s not his wrestling skills that have been the topic of discussion. The Australian pro wrestler has wowed the WWE Universe with The Grayson Waller Effect, an on-stage program where he interviews other wrestlers during the show.

Waller’s exploits have garnered his favorable views. Now, he’s on the brink of accomplishing something that even the mighty Roman Reigns failed to do. Waller’s endeavor involves the pending return of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Grayson Waller gets Dwayne Johnson to respond to his insults

Dwayne Johnson is a busy man. He has a booming career in Hollywood and has his fingers on several other ventures. Not surprisingly, these keep him away from the WWE. Despite previous tries, Johnson has failed to allot time for the promotion in the recent past.

Not even a match with Roman Reigns, his cousin and the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, could make him break his retirement and show up. There were rumors though of a Rock-Reigns showdown at WrestleMania 39. However, that was quickly doused as reports stated otherwise.

But one should never give up hope. Grayson Waller proved it again. The 33-year-old recently called out The People’s Champ and took shots at his match gear on his debut. Waller even called the outfit cringe. While it looked like the newbie was taking a wild swing, he actually managed to elicit a response from The Great One.

The 51-year-old legend is brutal when it comes to replies. He has shut down several of his famed opponents with the mic in the past. Waller joined that famed list. While Johnson acknowledged that his outfit was cringe, he called Waller a “Outback Jack Off”, taking a shot at his Australian lineage.

The Rock also dropped the iconic “Jabroni” comment on the SmackDown star. On the other hand, fans were happy for Waller. They saw the proverbial silver lining among the insults.

Fans hail Grayson Waller’s persistence

Waller has been in red-hot form lately. As stated previously, he made his main roster debut in May. Waller had his first match on the July 7 episode of the blue brand. His opponent was none other than 11-time world champion Edge. Apart from feuding with The Rated-R Superstar, Waller has had a brush with WWE legends John Cena and AJ Styles.

Now, he’s going after The Rock and has already had a bit of success with the reply. In fact, Waller too gave a reply after Johnson’s riposte. The 33-year-old termed it as “classic 1999 schoolyard insults”, taking a shot back at the WWE icon. He, however, extended his invitation to the legend to attend his program.

Fans are now hopeful that Waller can get Johnson to come to WWE. The recent development has this fan a bit angry. They feel Johnson should come back and feud with Reigns before appearing on Waller’s show.
