The world of wrestling isn’t just tough from the outside, but from the inside as well. However, fans are able to witness only the in-ring fights of the wrestlers, missing out on the bullying that goes on backstage. Even the most muscular wrestlers like Dwayne Johnson have fallen prey to it before becoming an $800 million Hollywood juggernaut.

Being a freshman in any field means one has to go through several ups and downs in his journey. And imagine getting dressed down by a veteran during that time. Wouldn’t it be heartbreaking? Yes, of course. The Rock must have felt a similar emotion when two old-timers bullied him backstage in the 90s.

Speaking on the Confessions Of The Hitman (h/t WrestlingInc.com), Bret Hart shed light on the bullying of The Great One in WWE. While narrating an anecdote from the past, he mentioned the names of Shawn Michaels and Triple H to be those bullies. They were out to get Johnson from the start. Hart first recalled when Michaels dressed down The Rock backstage.

He said, “Shawn came in and just dressed him down and he chewed him out. And I believe, [HBK] told [The Rock] to never do a top rope dropkick ever again because that was his move.”

After talking about what The Headliner did with Johnson just for a dropkick, the Hall of Fame legend reflected on Hunter’s action. However, The Game’s dislike for him has previously been disclosed.

The Hit Man added, “Triple H was the same. He was always out to get The Rock. Shawn was out to get him and they just worked on him, and worked on him, and worked on him…They wanted him [out] as bad as they wanted me out. Like, they were after him.

From what Hart said, one can understand the pressure that The Rock must have gone through in the 90s. That being said, the 65-year-old also mentioned how The Brahma Bull apologized to Shawn Michaels after he got furious over the dropkick. It deflated The Rock, as HBK was among the prominent guys in the company.

However, Hart did his part in assuring Johnson and disclosing how to maneuver through industry politics.

After Shawn Michaels went mad at The Rock for his move, the veteran slammed the door and walked away, leaving Johnson depressed. Then Bret “The Hitman” Hart came to The People’s Champion and said, “That’s total bulls**t.”

Along with that, Hart also highlighted to Johnson that the veterans are busting his chops and trying to work on him. This must have been a troublesome experience for The Rock. However, after all of it, no one could restrict him from becoming the sensation that he is today.
