Becky Lynch is one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling right now. But the road to superstardom was not a simple one for the WWE Raw Women’s Champion. She had to overcome several hurdles, and the horrific injury Lynch suffered back in 2006 is one such big hurdle.
Prior to Lynch appearing in WWE, she used to wrestle in the independent circuit. And in September 2006, during a match in Germany, she suffered a major injury that almost brought the curtains down to her professional wrestling career.
During Becky’s match against Kisu at GSW Unstoppable in September 2006, Lynch suffered a major head injury. That injury caused serious damage to the WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

The doctor told her to not engage in any heavy physical activity at that time. And advised her to stop wrestling for the next few months. It could also have ended her pro wrestling career forever.
In the next few years, Lynch had to take sufficient time off from pro wrestling. She competed only once in 2008 and in 2012.
However, in 2013, she seemed to recover from that injury and signed a deal with WWE. Following her impressive performances in WWE NXT, she became a part of the main roster.
