Becky Lynch served the WWE audience for a long time before her contract came to a close at the end of May 2024. Before she entered the WWE universe, the female superstar worked at other places too. She was an indie wrestler during her 2006 career run in Japan. However, there were certain moments during those matches that she wouldn’t proudly show off to the world.

One such moment recently resurfaced on the internet when a fan found footage of Becky Lynch’s wrestling in Japan. In the video, we can see a very young Lynch getting spanked by an older opponent.

“The Man” was around 21 years of age in the year 2006 when she was in Japan on her indie run. During a match on 20th August 2006 at Wrestle Expo during the WWC Tournament, Lynch lost after a hilarious in-ring humiliation at the hands of her opponent Kyoko Kimura.

In a clip that a fan posted on X, we can see Kimura grabbing Lynch in a headlock and spanking her in every direction of the squared circle to humiliate her. After some struggle, Lynch got out of the lock, but all her struggles were in vain as she eventually lost the fight to Kimura with the latter proceeding ahead in the tournament.

After her Indie run, Becky Lynch moved on to other promotions as a free agent and eventually landed in WWE for an illustrious career. The biggest moment of Lynch’s WWE career came in Wrestlemania 35, where she beat Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match to win the Raw women’s championship and Smackdown women’s championship together. However, the times have changed, as the wrestler might be leaving the Stamford-based company.

After being a long-term performer in WWE, Becky Lynch’s contract with the company ended at midnight on June 1. Starting June 2024, she is no longer obliged to the leading wrestling promotion. While the fans are, understandably, upset about Lynch’s probable departure from WWE, the reports haven’t revealed an official reason behind the situation and why she is not renewing her contract with the company.

During a Fightful podcast, Denise Salcedo talked about how this would be the first time a female wrestler, who is about to enter her 40s, will be deciding on her career in the industry. This is because the generation before her usually stopped wrestling in their 30s. It would be an interesting journey for both Lynch and her fanbase as she decides on her future. Where do you think Becky Lynch would end up?
