2022 may have been a mixed bag of emotions for many, but for one WWE superstar, it has been the best year of her life. Becky Lynch returned to action last year after taking a sabbatical. Lynch is one of the most accomplished and popular female wrestlers in the WWE in recent years.

In a career that spans around two decades, she has been there and done it all. Hence, it came as a surprise to many when ‘The Man’ admitted that 2022 was the best year of her career.

Lynch returned to the ring in November’s Survivor Series WarGames and landed the final pin on Bayley. Barring a few botches, she looked her usual self in the ring and yet again proved her mettle. While wishing her fans on the occasion of New Year on Twitter, Lynch was quick to point out that 2022 was her best year yet.

Year of years for Becky Lynch

She wrote, “Happy New Year! 2022 marked 20 years since I first started wrestling – it was also my favorite year of my career. Thank you all for coming on this ride with me! #ManOfThePeople”. Although Lynch has had many a title-winning year, she chose this past year as her best.

The year largely saw her play the second fiddle to the Raw women’s champion Bianca Belair. Yet the pair impresses one and all with their impeccable chemistry and in-ring prowess.

Lynch’s prominence in the wrestling world was synonymous with the women’s revolution, which took over the WWE in the 2010s. The crimson image of a bloody-nosed Lynch from 2018 still lives fresh in the memories of fans.

The moment surely skyrocketed her to superstardom in the WWE and helped her get over with the wrestling loyalists.

The Irish Lass Kicker is among the unofficial faction known as Four Horsewomen. The faction also consists of Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

The immensely talented quartet showcased their great potential from their NXT days and still continues to do so. Although all of them might have gone their separate ways, each of them has left an impressionable mark on the main roster.

A better 2023 perhaps?

Nevertheless, 2023 might be a year of endless possibilities for Lynch as she looks to reclaim the promotion’s top prize. And after teaming up with her, the current women’s champion Belair might understand The Man in a much better way.
