We are just a week away from the Royal Rumble PLE of the year and anticipation is rapidly getting wilder and denser regarding the potential surprise returns. Both the men’s and women’s rosters have already been loaded with a series of marquee superstars but still, there is space for some more to get in to add to the overall strength of the card. With this tone, if one of the most hyped-up rumored returns among the women’s roster is to be true, it will be none other than Sasha Banks’ resurging to the company ring a year after walking out.

Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone cut ties with the company last year alongside tag team partner Naomi due to a massive creative mismatch with Vince McMahon. While her abrupt walkout still stands as her swansong with the company, fans have been keen to know what’s next for the former women’s tag team champion.

With this concern, speculation emerged suggesting that the major promotions AEW and WWE have been vying to take Mone on board. Later on, a host of hints and teases came up to solidify those claims. Now, Kairi Sane added to the air of mystery, posting a cryptic update on her latest IG story.

The Japanese wrestler shared an old photo of her in WWE attire alongside Sasha Banks and Bayley. So is a Royal Rumble return really looming large for the IWGP Women’s Champion? Only time will give us more closure.

However, a WWE return idea was almost dismissed for Banks at the start of the year.

It was initially reported that Mone laid out a ton of conditions to be back with the Stamford-based company. And WWE wasn’t in a position to keep up with those demands.

Fightful reported that WWE and Sasha Banks were done with their active negotiations. Despite an amicable discussion, the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement, mostly due to financial matters involved. With this, Sasha Banks’s return potential hit a snag.
