“I was in college and at that time, I was a basketball player. My coach starts getting some enquiries from European Teams, Pro Teams. You know, at 21, being the last guy at the end of the bench in Lithuania doesn’t sound real appealing to a 21-year-old. So, I’m meeting this guy, Jim. ‘I’m going to wrestling camp, become a professional wrestler. Man, you gotta go to this camp with me’ [says Jim].”
“One thing I’m noticing, the guys that are my size are huge guys but they don’t move real well. So I started thinking. At the time, I was really athletic. So I kinda start weighing things out and going to meet this guy that’s gonna train. We go and sit down, and he sold me.”
It’s impossible to think about a wrestling industry where The Undertaker doesn’t exist. However, had he become a basketball player, he definitely would have found success there as well.

“So a few years back, I’m wrestling John Cena, and it’s going to be at WrestleMania. So we’re doing this thing on TV where Cena’s just badmouthing me every week. He’s trying to get me to wrestle him at Mania. My daughter loves it; my daughter loves Cena. So we eventually have a match. She sat in the front row with her mom.”
“Real quick deal; I squash him in like five minutes, right? I just kicked the sh*t out of him, dropped him on his head, and I pinned him. I’m looking at my daughter looking for that, you know, yay dad, and she’s giving me this [does a thumbs down] and I’m like what the hell is that?”
Well, maybe she doesn’t like his character. But he has definitely paved quite the way for her if she wants to join WWE!
