His latest tweet conveyed his frustrations as it seemed he was out there taking digs at WWE higher-ups for his unfulfilled endeavors in the company. The Tweet reads, ”When you bet on yourself and overcome bad booking by a former employer”.

While it could put a stop to the wild Royal Rumble speculation, the star didn’t let that happen with a clear follow-up message.

He clarified he didn’t refer to WWE in that tweet.

The former WWE star was released by the promotion in 2011 after languishing on the roster. In his final phase of his WWE career, the 41-year-old was sparsely used by the creatives. Masters then tried his luck in the independent circuit and has had stints with TNA and the NWA. However, his desire to return to the WWE remains intact. Chris Masters- The star that never was?

Chris Masters, popularly known as “The Masterpiece,” had every quality needed to etch one’s name in history as a phenomenal main event WWE superstar. It was the creative’s callousness to misuse his talent through some miserable bookings. However, the star reignited his career at a pretty good pace back in 2005. His narcissistic gimmick, coupled with a dominating aura, sat well with the WWE fanatics, making it a decent sell.

However, this momentum fizzled out quickly and he remained as a mid-carder in the roster only. His stout physique and indomitable attitude went in vain when he was released from the company in 2011. His second stint after 2009 was mostly forgettable as WWE didn’t plan out any big spots or storylines for him. Nevertheless, it would be unfair to suggest that WWE creative was the sole reason for his disappointing second spell in the company.
