“Ask Him His Name”: Hulk Hogan Once Recalled an Embarrassing Phone Call to His First Wife Linda Before Marrying Her

Linda and Hulk Hogan were married for 24 years before getting separated. They had met in the 80s when The Hulkster had found success in wrestling and Hollywood. However, once he shared a funny incident when he called Linda for the first time at her home. 

It was her mom who picked up the phone, but Hogan listen to the conversation between Linda and her mother on the other side.

Linda thought it was Mr.T and not Hulk Hogan on the call

The Immortal One was enjoying at a place called Red Onion where he saw Linda for the first time. He recalled approaching her several times before they exchanged numbers. However, when he called, it was her mom who received the call, while Linda forgot Hogan’s name. He recalled this appearing on the Jay Leno Show in 1994.

Hogan said, “And she goes, ‘Weren’t you in that movie?’ I say, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was in the movie’. So long story short I call her the next day and her mother answers the phone. When her mom…(Jay Leno asked did Linda herself recognized Hogan or if he had to brag about it to get her attention. The Hulkster confirms she recognized him from Rocky 3)”

The 12-time world champion added, “The next day when I called, her mom kept her hand over the phone and says, ‘Some guy is calling from Rocky movie’. (Linda) said, ‘Mr.T?’. I kind of hear it through her hand and she goes, ‘Ask him his name!’ She forgot my name. So you know we’ve been there.”

It seems the two-time WWE Hall of Famer was very much flattered by Linda. But Hogan said in this interview, she didn’t know he was a wrestler too.

They stayed together for 24 years before announcing their divorce. The couple has two children, Nick and Brooke Hogan, who are also well known across the United States.

Jay Leno asked what Hogan reply to Linda’s mom when ask his name

As the nWo member shared his story, the host of the show Jay Leno had a doubt. He asked Hogan did he said his name ‘Hulk’ or his real name.

The WWE legend said, “Oh sure, no it doesn’t. It says, Terry. Terry Hulk Hogan, they know that, it’s no surprise, they know that.”

We will always know The Immortal One as Hulk Hogan. WWE gave him huge fame and success that even though his name is Terry Bollea, people will know him as Hulk Hogan.
