The moment in reference happened after Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a street-style match at an in-house show at Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA. In the clip taken, Cody Rhodes could be seen talking to the fans after his win, when he noticed the special sign.
He pointed it out on the mic and then read it aloud. He said, “You guys have a lot of very good signs. I appreciate it. But there’s one that’s caught my eye, is a sign here that says, ‘Blindness can’t stop me from seeing Cody.’” before approaching the fan. He hugged the blind lady in white while the crowd was applauding the special gesture shown by The American Nightmare.
