While Bayley is the leader of Damage CTRL right now, she has held a lot of single championships. The WWE star has a resume of putting on amazing matches with top-level talent on the WWE women’s roster. Even now, she has been putting on banger matches with Becky Lynch, whether it is a singles match or turning it up a notch and competing in a cage match. But one thing has drastically changed: her persona.

When the Role Model first got her upstart, she was diametrically opposite to her current persona. Running across the arena with a smile on her face and confetti tied to her arms, she was the Hugger. Her entire outfit was always based on happiness and imparting a warm and comfortable feeling. She even had inflatables pop up when she made her entrance. But that didn’t hinder her wrestling ability in any way.

She was still ruthless to her opponents and put on amazing classics with Sasha Banks and Asuka. Her NXT title reign has seen some of the best women’s matches under the entire WWE brand throughout history. But all that changed when she shifted to the main roster. The hugger wasn’t clicking with the audience and Bayley would have been pushed to the side, if not for her drastic change that fans deem as the most hated character on WWE TV.

Bayley reveals her thoughts on the downfall of her babyface persona

Bayley recently sat down with Ariel Helwani to talk about her career trajectory. While talking about her massive heel turn she said, “But as I got older, I had more experience. I had won a championship. You’ve done these things, get over it, get over being excited over being here. You’ve been here six years already.

The WWE star used her real-life experience in the promotion to transition seamlessly to a unique character. Ever since that change, Bayley has been nothing short of unstoppable.

As Helwani mentions in the interview, she was the MVP of the COVID era of wrestling in WWE. Also, her newest initiative for a female faction is exciting and is making headlines as Damage CTRL continues to dominate. We hope the trio potentially gets their chance at a big match at The Showcase of Immortals.

With her ongoing feud with Becky Lynch, it should be a no-brainer to put the two against each other at WrestleMania 39. But mixing that with the team of Lita and another WWE legend would make it just big enough for the biggest show of WWE all year round.
