Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik Mysterio have been involved in a feud with The Miz. This new rivalry took a very personal tone as The Miz confronted The Mysterios and proved how savage he can be on the microphone.
The confrontation followed The Miz defeating Dominik Mysterio with the help of a little trickery last week on Raw. On this week’s Raw, Miz and his wife Maryse hosted a new edition of Miz TV, with their guests being The Mysterios. What followed was a brutal verbal bout in Denver.
As The Miz gloated about his past achievements, Rey Mysterio was quick to point out that The Miz had cheated. This led to The Miz questioning the fans about them cheering Eddie Guerrero for winning matches by cheating, but booing him.

After this heated exchange, Dominik Mysterio stood up to defend his father and asked The Miz to show respect for the legendary luchador. Consequently, The Miz challenged Dominik Mysterio to a match, which the latter accepted. The former two time WWE champion further ignited the fire by saying:
“I never noticed, you’re a lot taller than Rey. Are you sure you’re not Eddie’s son?”

This comment by The Miz led Rey’s son to push down the former eight-time intercontinental champion. The match followed this exchange and Dominik Mysterio won with the help of his father, who distracted The Miz..
Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero’s controversial history
The Miz taking this shot at Rey Mysterio and his son was no fluke. The history between Rey and Eddie over the years became a hot topic for fans. Both the superstars have had incredible careers, which often intercrossed with each other. Most notably, in 2005, Rey Mysterio had a massive feud with Eddie Guerrero.
Following a loss at The Great American Bash 2005 to Rey Mysterio, Guerrero revealed he is the real biological father of Dominik Mysterio. This feud became very heated and finally culminated at SummerSlam 2005 where Rey Mysterio fought Guerrero in a ladder match for the custody of 8-year-old Dominik Mysterio.

Rey Mysterio won the match and received the custody of Dominik. The storyline received mixed reactions from the fans.

Eddie and Rey remained incredible friends in real life. Till today, Rey uses an Eddie Guerrero move in most of his matches. Even Rey’s son Dominik has joined the tradition of giving a tribute to Guerrero in his matches, showing well-deserved respect to the legendary superstar.
