The chemistry between WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H is so pure, both on-screen and off-screen. Throughout their careers, Michaels and HHH have been portrayed as both friends and enemies.
However, the two are wrestlers are so close, that the younger generation of WWE Universe thinks the two legends are related. No, they are not related, but they are nothing short of brothers.
HHH and HBK worked started working together in the 90s and are still together where both men look after the backstage developments of the NXT brand, making sure that it becomes better and bigger than before.

Triple H arrived in WWE in 1995, and Shawn Michaels was already the main event star by that point in the company. However, the two bonded quickly and Michaels brought HHH to his political group called, The Kliq.

The Kliq members – Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon, Kevin Nash aka Diesel, and Sean Waltman aka X-Pac had so much power backstage that sometimes it felt like they are the ones running the company.
Shawn Michaels spotted Triple H before he worked for WWE
‘The Game’ and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ didn’t know each other before WWE. Shawn Michaels was already in the WWE, while Triple H was finding his feat in WCW.
However. Michaels and the other members of the Kliq saw his work in WCW and pushed Vince McMahon to sign Triple H.
A few years later since HHH’s debut, both men infamously formed D-Generation X, that changed the landscape of professional wrestling and gave WWE the edge over WCW in the Monday Night Wars.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels – best friends
The friendship between HBK and HHH runs deep in their veins. Triple H took care of Shawn Michaels and helped him heal when HBK’s career seemed finished after suffering a career-threatening injury at the Royal Rumble PPV in 1998.
However, one interesting story is that Michaels suggested the name “Triple H” to the former WWE champion. The Game began his career in the early 1990s, and while he wrestled in WCW, Terra Ryzing.
However, when he debuted for WWE, he was named Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Shawn Michaels started calling him Triple H before it became his official in-ring name.
Shawn Michaels and Triple H had a fall-out
Now, as we’ve established that HBK was notoriously known for his backstage influence and veterans like Bret Hart didn’t like him.
However, when Michaels for forced to retire after his spine injury in ’98, HBK didn’t leave wrestling altogether as WWE assigned him as on-screen commissioner. Eventually, none of Michaels’ behavior changed as he was still hard to deal with and his increasing drug problems.
In 2001, at WrestleMania X-Seven, the WWE officials wanted Shawn Michaels to be a part of the event in a fighting capacity. However, things went sideways when HBK showed up for a meeting barely able to speak because of the amount he had consumed, impairing him to the point he wasn’t fit to fight.

It’s been reported that ‘The Game’ didn’t speak to Michaels for over a year.

Eventually, the two later found ways to make amends and are still best friends to date.
