Apart From His In-Ring Performances, This Special Attribute of Cody Rhodes Is Cementing His Place as a WWE “Main-Eventer”

Cody Rhodes is one of the most popular pro wrestlers on the current roster. The American Nightmare has been a talking point ever since his return to WWE last year. After making his much-awaited return last year at WrestleMania 38, Rhodes engaged in a feud with Seth Rollins.

However, an injured pectoral muscle would lead him to an absence of around eight months. Rhodes would cut short his absence and return at Royal Rumble 2023, to win the Men’s battle royal event. And now he is set to face Roman Reigns for his Undisputed WWE Universal titles at WrestleMania 39.

A win at the Royal Rumble elevated Rhodes to a main-event status, which he had failed to achieve during his initial run at the company. Rhodes’ peak came during his first phase when he and his brother Goldust were pitted against The Shield and The Authority.

However, this time things seem to be different. As per a report by WON, Cody Rhodes is on par with the top main eventers in the company when the sales of their merchandise are compared. Rhodes’ merchandise has been selling like hotcakes a testament to his star power.

Dave Meltzer of WON stated, “Rhodes now hitting the levels of top tier main eventers .” And he stated the above reasons as the cause. Rhodes’ upcoming battle against Reigns at WrestleMania 39, would be his first WrestleMania main event. And if he happens to capture the gold, Rhodes will become the first WWE World Champion from his family.

While it was always the plan for Rhodes to win the world title, his injury might have delayed it.

WWE legend claims Cody Rhodes to be the biggest draw for WWE

Former WWE superstar and wrestling legend Mark Henry recently opened up on the Busted Open Radio, and heaped praises on The American Nightmare. Henry would compare Rhodes with one of the biggest stars on WWE’s roster, Roman Reigns.

He would compare Rhodes with Reigns, and claim the former to be a bigger star than him. Henry would then justify the reason behind WWE preferring Rhodes by claiming, “I mean, there’s a load of talent that we’re seeing that this guy is taking precedence over, and that means something.”

The World’s Strongest Man would claim that Rhodes is a suit-wearing polished man, which makes him likable to Vince McMahon. Mark Henry was one of the legends of the company, and Rhodes may be on his way to being one.
