Currently enjoying his 1000+ days run as champion, Roman Reigns is arguably the hottest superstar on the WWE roster. And Reigns has been breaking records almost every other day. However, at the very same moment, his stronghold at the top has also given rise to several potential challengers.

A 23-year-old WWE superstar recently laid out a challenge for Reigns. Although fans expect Reigns to come out victorious in these fantasy bouts, the youngster could give Reigns a run for his money.

Which WWE superstar challenged Roman Reigns for his Undisputed WWE Championship?

2020 Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson is one of the most respected names in the amateur wrestling circuit. And WWE made sure to protect and provide the future superstar with every amenity.

WWE provided Steveson with a remote training location while he attended The University of Minnesota. Steveson is yet to be involved in a storyline in WWE. Although he appeared a few times on television, his appearance was not met with the desired crowd reaction. However, recently, he laid out a challenge for The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

During the latest Instagram post of Roman Reigns, Steveson would slide into the comment section and lay out an open challenge. He commented, “Anyone? Anytime? Roman vs Gable in Paris?!” After Reigns posted a promotional post for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Stevenson made sure to have the world know his intentions.

Both Reigns and the 23-year-old hail from a sporting background, while Reigns has a football and pro wrestling background, Steveson is more of a ‘next Brock Lesnar‘. With a similar physique and build, and the same background, WWE could possibly build Stevenson as the next Lesnar, and potentially have him later feud with Reigns.

WWE could use his momentum, and popularity to turn Steveson into something which they failed to do with former WWE superstar Parker Bourdeaux.

Can WWE build Gable Steveson as the ‘next Brock Lesnar’?

Brock Lesnar was pushed to the moon from his very first day in WWE. Hailed as the ‘next big thing’ Lesnar made it big from his very debut. However, despite appearing a few times on television, Steveson has failed to garner a similar reaction.

With such a physique and background of immense success, Steveson may be needed to be booked as a ruthless heel who goes on a rampage, instead of booking him like a baby face. WWE could use the same approach they used while revamping Reigns.

A groomed, and trained Steveson could do wonders for WWE if booked properly like Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle.
