Industry veteran John Cena once again returned to WWE during the Hollywood strikes. Even though it was a short stint for the star, he made sure to make the most of it. He did so by helping and guiding new talents who are at a turning point in their careers. While fans might be familiar with his team-up with LA Knight, there was a NXT star apart from Carmelo Hayes who happened to work closely with him. The star in question, Trick Williams, shared all the things he learned from the Leader of the Cenation.
John Cena is a great teacher
While speaking with Matthew Aguilar of ComicBook.com, Williams shared his experience of working closely with the Hollywood star. When asked whether Cena imparted him with some wisdom, he said, “Definitely, man. Definitely. A lot of stuff.” He then went on to say that there were a few things he could not share during the conversation, but he shared what he learned by observing him. He said, “I learned a lot, directly and indirectly, just by watching him.” The former North American NXT Champion added that Cena is good at what he does and he is grateful for the experience.

During one of the biggest crossovers this year, many stars from Raw and SmackDown were seen at WWE NXT. It was during this time, that Williams got the opportunity to work with the Peacemaker star. Apart from John Cena, other stars such as Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, and many more were seen in the episode.
Apart from the above reason, the night of October 10, 2023, was particularly a big night as both AEW and WWE faced off at a ratings war. While Carmillo Hayes and Williams shared their experience working alongside John Cena, the SmackDown superstar shared his experience too.
How John Cena felt at NXT
The night of October 10 was particularly special for John Cena as this was the first time he graced the rings of NXT. The star was present to be at the ringside of Carmello Hayes, for his fight against Bron Breakker. Before the fight, Breakker decided to cut Cena’s promo as he was addressing the crowd. However, Breakker was delivered with an Attitude Adjustment which he nearly escaped. The night also saw the Enforcer of Bloodline Solo Sikoa challenge the 16-time world champion for a duel. However, it was cut short.
