The entire wrestling world is buzzing since the news of Andrade requesting his release came out. The news spread like wildfire, but Andrade didn’t get released. Some speculated that the rumors were just rumors. But now, we can finally settle the dust on Andrade’s status with WWE.

Andrade provides an update on his WWE status

The former NXT Champion recently broke his silence on the rumors regarding his request of being released. He posted a tweet confirming the rumors of his departure to be true. ‘El Idolo’ added he does not know what’s next in store for him, but he was grateful for the overwhelming fan support.

Andrade is one of the most talented professional wrestlers on the planet today. The only thing that kept him from finding ultimate success in WWE is English. As per a report from a few months ago, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon saw nothing for Aleister Black and Andrade.

NXT Champion to not interested – what happened?

Andrade’s manager, Zelina Vega, departed from WWE following a fallout regarding the third-party edict the company had sent last year. Vega played a crucial role in Andrade’s success on NXT, and also on the main roster. She was the perfect mouthpiece for him.

We believe Zelina Vega’s release must’ve been the final straw for Andrade. He knew Mr. McMahon thinks nothing of him, but he also knows his true potential. ‘El Idolo’ can put a match with anyone. Never forget his match against Johnny Gargano was the first 5-star rated match in NXT history!

Andrade’s downhill push started when Paul Heyman was removed as the Executive Director of Raw. It is believed Heyman was a huge fan of Black and Andrade. Hence, the US Title was on the Mexican prodigy. But as soon as he went, Andrade slowly faded into oblivion.

WWE has not granted Andrade his release as of this writing. We believe WWE wants to run his contract out because they know doing so will mean he pops up on AEW television in just a matter of months.
