Hulk Hogan is one of the most recognized WWE stars worldwide. However, everything comes at a price. In Hogan’s case, he had to go through a good deal of health issues post-retirement, which also took a toll on the legend’s life. Back in 2013, Hogan appeared in an episode of Rover’s Morning glory podcast where the WWE Hall of Famer talked about his career-related injuries and further discussed how he has apparently become shorter after a number of surgeries which he had.

A few years ago he said in an interview, “That’s just a character brother. I’m 6’4 now, I used to be much, much, taller.”
Hulk Hogan shares the reason for getting shirk
The conversation began with the host asking Hogan whether he really shrunk to which The Hulkster replied, “I actually did [shrink].” He further added, “When I was 27 years old, I was 6’7 on the nose. After 35 years of jumping up and landing on my tailbone doing the legdrop, and nine back surgeries, and two hip replacements, and two knee replacements, I’m now 6’4 1/2.”
Professional wrestlers work for 300+ days a year and ‘The Immortal One’ legged dropped his opponents for that many days. Additionally, he also took bumps on his back several times. Prior to talking about his height, Hogan recalled his mom measuring everyone’s height.

He said, “My mom, god bless her soul, before she passed away two years ago, everybody who came over to our house. She would measure everybody on the wall. So if you came over (she would go), ‘Take your hat off. I want to measure, that’s what she did. We had those walls with pencil marks on it.”
A few years ago, the 12-time world champion shared on OBJECTified about having 17 surgeries in total all over his body. At one point, there was a simulator attached to his spine to reduce the pain.
Hogan shares how much heavy toll he took on his bod
While talking to OBJECTified, Hogan shared which part of his body was metal after surgery. Also, he took a hilarious jibe at the people who say pro wrestling is fake.
He said, “My knees are fake, hips are fake, back is full of metal and part of my face is full of metal. I didn’t get the memo about the fake wrestling. (H/T Wonderwall)”

Hulk’s eye has been reconstructed several times after being hit in the face, and he has broken his nose 13 times. Pro wrestling is a physically hard sport. To this day, he has teeth marks on his fingers from wrestling matches from the ’70s.
