Ric Flair has had an illustrious career in pro wrestling, spanning close to five decades in the squared circle. The Nature Boy got famous due to his charisma and flamboyance despite being at heel for most of his career. He has won many accolades over this time, but has also created a fair amount of controversies. Following one such incident in 2021, WWE removed Flair from their opening intro, only to add him after some time.

But they left him out again during the Crown Jewel intro package, which may have been an error. After Ric Flair pointed it out, the promotion was quick to rectify their mistake on this week’s episode of RAW.

After WWE’s decision to include Ric Flair’s signature “Woo” back in the opening credits, the legendary wrestler shared his excitement on Twitter. But the fans were less than pleased seeing Flair being desperate for such a gesture from WWE.

WWE’s relationship with Ric Flair hit a snag after the Dark Side of the Ring aired the infamous “Plane Ride from Hell” featuring the 16-time world champion. After the show aired, WWE took out Flair’s iconic catchphrase “Woo” from the opening intro used for their shows. They even stopped offering his merchandise at their WWE store.

WWE brought back Flair in their opening video package later as the two sides mended their relationship. But they again removed him from the intro during the WWE Crown Jewel. Flair said he hoped this was an error and said he would speak on the matter if they do not put him back in the intro on RAW.

Indeed, WWE did put his “Woo” back in the opening intro on RAW and to the delight of Flair. He then took to Twitter to share his excitement about being brought back on the intro package. He tweeted, “Thanks @WWE! I’m Back Up & Running! It’s A Big F*cking Deal To Be In The Opening! WOOOOO!”

 

Some fans thought Flair didn’t need such things to be relevant.

Fans may have been annoyed at seeing such an iconic wrestler as Ric Flair seeking approval in this way. Flair wrestled across multiple eras all over the world for many promotions and won accolades aplenty. He had some of the greatest feuds in wrestling history.

Not to forget, he is a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and will go down as one of the greatest to step foot inside a wrestling ring. Whether he features on an intro package or not is perhaps irrelevant to Ric Flair’s last legacy.
