Before the arrival of AEW and after the demise of WCW, in the middle, there was a promotion that was termed the biggest competitor of the WWE. And it was none other than TNA. The company founded by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett in 2002 was one of the top-rising promotions in the world.

But unfortunately, as quick as its meteoric rise, came the downfall of the promotion. Call it terrible booking decisions, mismanagement, or simply the lack of top stars, the promotion suffered. But now it looks like it has come up with another opportunity to rise again against the Triple H run promotion. What is it? Let’s find out.

TNA partners up with legendary Mexican promotion

On the TNA PPV, Hard to Kill, a formal partnership was announced between TNA and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. TNA President Scott D’Amore announced how the partnership is expected to bring together the best wrestlers in the world and create a new era of sports entertainment.

Despite having a talented roster, TNA lacked exposure, and the move can bring in the Mexican audience and fans of Lucha Libre worldwide. This move is already being called ‘a new era’ for the company. While the announcement surely elated the fans of the promotion, they felt equally hurt after a move that surely left many disappointed.

A debut to remember

TNA President Scott D’Amore had more announcements to make apart from the partnership between TNA and the 32-year-old promotion, Lucha Libre AAA. For days, the promotion had been teasing that they had signed a pro-wrestling superstar and the star would be making an appearance soon, and they sure did make a grand appearance on TNA Hard to Kill.

On the PPV, fans could see a limo with the supposed “big signing” sitting inside it. And when it was time for the Knockouts World Championship title match, it was time for the grand appearance. Fans watched in disbelief as the mega-signing was former WWE superstar Dana Brooke. In a gimmick called ‘Ash by Elegance’ that looked very similar to AEW’s Tony Storm. So similar that it took no time for fans to rush to social media and call out the promotion for the massive hype they created.

Surely, with such hype surrounding her, we can expect her to get a title shot, as shown by her ringside appearance as Jordynne Grace defeated Trinity to begin her third title reign. But it would surely take a lot of effort for Ash by Elegance to get fans behind her.
