For a long time now, WWE was dominating the entire pro wrestling division until Tony Khan came up with AEW. All the major pro wrestling promotions other than WWE did not have huge budgets like WWE, and instead operated on the indie circuit. However, after Tony Khan’s AEW came up with big budgets and wrestlers, it became a direct threat to WWE.

Prior to last year, before Vince McMahon’s retirement, several WWE superstars felt the lack of creativity and push in their careers. And it compelled them to jump ship to AEW from WWE.

Despite Tony Khan starting a war between WWE and AEW, wrestlers denied engaging and spoke highly about both promotions.
