The last time we checked on Roman Reigns, he was busy feuding with the rivals of The Bloodline. The Head of the Table has been in rivalry with Sami Zayn and his partner Kevin Owens for quite some time now. The last in-ring dispute between the two was at the Night of Champions where Zayn defeated Reigns in a tag team match, retaining his tag-team championship. The same year, in 2022, when this storyline started, a momentous event happened inside the Anoa’i family.

Just like the rest of Reigns’ nephews, fans also address Zilla Fatu as his ‘cousin’. In a recent video on YouTube, the wrestler talked about a significant identity change he went through, a year ago.

In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, Fatu talked about his conversion to the religion of Islam. Although The Tribal Chief currently follows Christianity, not much is known about Zilla Fatu’s previous religious life. The wrestler revealed in the video that he had accepted Islam as his path a year ago.

I just wanted to get on here to share, a brief summary or whatever, on my journey. I’m becoming a Muslim. Don’t say ‘I don’t know’. I am Muslim; I converted a year ago on April 3rd and it’s been beautiful ever since,” confessed Reigns’ cousin half a minute after starting the video.

He revealed that he converted to Islam a year ago when he was still serving his six years of sentence at the Texas State Penitentiary. He confessed that he found himself resonating with Islam in a lot of things. Although the wrestler wasn’t serious about anything at first, he eventually ‘gave himself to Allah’. Now, he found this change important enough to share it with the world.

After returning from prison in March 2022, Fatu has reportedly been training to become a wrestler. Although his father, the late WWE star Umaga, had other ideas for Zilla to follow in terms of his career, the young wrestler saw his family’s success in wrestling.

In an interview around three months back, Zilla Fatu sat and talked about his aspirations to become a full-time wrestler. He also talked about how he is not just aiming to become a mere member of The Bloodline but actually become The Tribal Chief himself. Although he hasn’t stepped foot in the business yet, he is already aiming high.

For fans of the Anoa’i family, Zilla’s future arrival is a great thing to look up to. The family is popular for having an endless line of wrestlers. So, even if Zilla is unable to make it to WWE, probably some other wrestler will.
