There are many WWE stars who didn’t get utilized much by the company as compared to the others. As the sport majorly depends on creative brains, the onus comes down to writers crafting intriguing stories for super-talented stars. That being said, WWE often gets slammed because of poor booking of the wrestlers. Once again, that seems to be the case.

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently appeared on the ‘Oh You Didn’t Know’ podcast. There, he picked the top wrestler from his list of favorites for whom he would love to write. The top guy in Russo’s choice was none other than Bray Wyatt. Also, Russo thought nowadays WWE doesn’t use its talents to the fullest. He wished he could contribute to improve this in any way.

Russo, who worked as a writer in WWE during the Attitude Era, explained, ‘For a lot of people, I watch and I do say God; I wish I could have you, wish I could write. I am being honest because I feel you know my opinion that there are people that are being underutilized. Yeah, and I think it, it’s like simple things and I mean bro there are a lot of characters I like on the show where I just sit there and I say, God, I just wish I could.’

Addressing Bray Wyatt as a genius, Russo continued, ‘But at the top of my list, I mean and Bray is been on the top of my list for a long time and he doesn’t need Vince Russo writing for him but I think Bray is freaking genius yeah you know.’

However, Wyatt’s current run with Stamford’s company often draws criticism from fans as he hasn’t wrestled much since returning to WWE last year at Extreme Rule. The 2023 Royal Rumble saw his only match since his big return where he defeated LA Knight in a ‘Mountain Dew Pitch’ Black match.

Wyatt’s WrestleMania appearance looked more uncertain than ever after his further absence from the latest SmackDown episode. Previously, the 35-year-old had a scheduled match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39. But that looks in jeopardy as he is dealing with a ‘physical issue’.

However, some wrestling enthusiasts think the reason behind his being sidelined was not a physical issue at all. Rather, it has something to do with WWE’s creative team. They possibly want to get some time for correcting their mistake of offering Wyatt creative leeway with his character and could go in another direction with him.
