From renowned musicians to legendary footballers, every celebrity wants a piece of the WWE in their lives. Now, it seems the turn is for none other than the global football gem Cristiano Ronaldo to bump in the ring. If the rumor mills are to be believed, then we might see the Portuguese soccer GOAT in the squared circle as early as in the Crown Jewel this week. As a part of WWE and Saudi Arabia’s unified effort to make the glittery PLE a banger, the dashing Al Nassr forward could be added to the list of superstar guests of the night.
That said, before Ronaldo, there were some other fellow footballers who made their appearances in the Stamford-based company as well. Let’s reflect back on their forgotten connections with the wrestling ring.

If Ronaldo, 38, finally ends up turning up at November 4th’s extravaganza, he has his predecessors in the form of a couple of peers like Wayne Rooney, Vincent Kompany, John Terry, and a few more.
Ronaldo’s former Red Devils teammate and England international, Wayne Rooney, was spotted in an episode of WWE Monday Night Raw back in 2015. He even made part of a heated segment with Wade Barrett and garnered huge pop from the crowd.
English footballer John Terry also made his presence felt in the wrestling town at one point of time in his career. He came across wrestlers like Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins. On top of it, the centre-back was also granted a WWE Championship belt at Stamford Bridge.
Another star footballer, Vincent Kompany, has also been presented with a prestigious WWE belt alongside some of the other Manchester City fellas.

The list isn’t finished here. A bunch of other soccer talents, including Grant Holt, Tim Wiese, and Adebayo Akinfenwa have also had the chance to visit the WWE world in the past.
Coming back to Cristiano Ronaldo, he’s already at the receiving end of a top WWE heel given rumors swirling over his possible presence at the Crown Jewel.
Grayson Waller is seemingly prepping to get on the nerve of Cristiano Ronaldo
The former Manchester United star has been an ardent wrestling fan throughout his life. He also shares a close bond with a number of WWE acts like Rey Mysterio and Triple H. On the flip side, the modern-age wrestler Grayson Waller has seemed to pick Ronaldo as the next victim of his rubs.
While there’s still no official word on his presence at Crown Jewel tomorrow, the 33-year-old WWE heel is likely to gear up for a segment with the legend from another sport.
The Aussie wrestler wrote via Twitter, ”Soccer is a mediocre ‘sport’. No idea why people praise this flop so much 🥱” and attached a GIF of Cristiano Ronaldo with it.
