However, despite all this, he still has time to work on his Hollywood projects. Johnson always finds a way to amaze fans with the number of things he juggles at one time. His ex-wife’s new post on social media hints at his extracurricular work.

Johnson made his return to the WWE and hinted at taking on Roman Reigns for the position of being the Head of the Table. He also announced last year that his XFL-USFL spring football league will be known as the UFL — the United Football League. Now, he has turned his attention back to his flourishing Hollywood career as he began work on a new film.

Dwayne Johnson arrives at Disney to shoot the live-action Moana

Disney’s 2016 movie Moana has been Johnson’s most loved movie for children. Playing the Demigod Maui, he showed the world his culture and his singing chops. Pulling massively from its Polynesian culture, the movie and Johnson were praised. However, fans of the movie got great news in 2023.

During an interview, Johnson announced that Disney and his Seven Bucks Production studio would collaborate for a live-action Monan movie. He would be reprising his role as Maui along with the singing duties. Fans went crazy for it as Johnson being cast to play a live-action Maui has been something fans have been waiting for since 2016.

Today, taking to social media, Johnson’s ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia, posted something that seems to hint the work on the movie has begun. Her story featured Johnson and herself at Disney Studios, with the song from Moana used as the background music.

Fans quickly connected the dots that Johnson was at Disney to start filming for the project. The Hollywood star does not have any other commitments toward any other Disney deal. The film is expected to wrap filming this year with a release date of mid to late end of 2025. Nevertheless, The Rock’s fans and movie fans in general expect the film to be a smashing hit just like the animated film.
