Dwayne Johnson has lately been facing highs and lows business-wise. It was earlier reported that Dwayne Johnson’s XFL venture incurred a massive loss of around $60 Million after the completion of its first season. However, amidst his roller coaster professional life, Johnson is hearing good news about the potential return of his 39-year-old cousin to WWE.

Although many of Johnson’s relatives are currently part of the WWE roster, there is a notable female wrestler who departed from the company in 2021 to prioritize her mental health. And the star in question is none other than Nia Jax, who made her WWE debut in 2014.

Is Dwayne Johnson’s cousin Nia Jax coming back to WWE as a full-timer?

The Samoan female powerhouse had a notable run as she dominated major stars on Raw and SmackDown. However, she had to step away from the ring in 2021 due to personal reasons. In addition, her release was also tied to the budget cuts. Although it’s been a long time since Jax has returned as a full-time competitor, she was seen making a cameo appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. Jax entered the match at No. 30 but was eliminated very quickly. Nonetheless, a new report from PWInsider states that there have been some ‘rumblings’ going on backstage about Jax’s potential return.

The report came to light just before Raw after SummerSlam. Despite the happy news, Jax wasn’t seen backstage. Anyway, it will be interesting to see Jax return to a roster full of competitive women.

A lot has changed since Jax has been absent. But she will not have to start from the bottom again due to her impressive initial run and formidable presence. Moreover, Jax has a score to settle with Rhea Ripley, who led a bevy of female talents to eliminate Jax in the Royal Rumble match.

At this point, her return remains a mere speculation. We will have to wait and see if she surprises the fans ahead of Payback. Dwayne Johnson would be pleased with Jax’s return. He had once advised her to not rely on them being related as it would only invite comparisons, to introduce herself to everyone she meets, and to stay humble. However, Jax once revealed that none of her family members had her back during her release from WWE.

Nia Jax once claimed her family did not support her during expulsion from WWE

Nia Jax belongs to the revered Anoi’a family of Samoan descent. This means she is a cousin to Dwayne Johnson, The Usos, Roman Reigns, Tamina, and others. Despite her respectable pedigree in pro wrestling, she was released from WWE in 2021 due to budget cuts.

Surprisingly, during a conversation with Renee Paquette, Jax revealed that she was on her own when she lost her job. She said, “Whatever family members they thought supported me, were opposite, did not have my back.”

Contrary to the belief that she would not lose her job because of Dwayne Johnson’s influence, Jax was removed. On the bright side, though, Jax has kept herself busy since leaving WWE and focused on her mental health. It remains to be seen how the fans react if Jax’s return materializes.
