Friday’s SmackDown was power-packed as LA Knight returned to lay waste to The Bloodline. Not just that, Knight also signed the contract thus becoming John Cena’s tag team partner for Fastlane. And once again, the only way Roman Reigns made his presence felt on SmackDown was when Paul Heyman said, “Call Roman Reigns”. And the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins didn’t miss this opportunity to fire shots at The Tribal Chief.

The last time Roman Reigns had a match was at SummerSlam with Jey Uso for the Undisputed Universal Championship.

Seth Rollins took a direct dig at Roman Reigns’ absence from the WWE

Roman Reigns was last seen in the WWE almost 7 weeks ago on 11th August. Post that he has been on vacation and is slated to return next month. But during his absence, a lot has happened. The GOAT John Cena has returned and he has gone straight for The Bloodline.

However, Jimmy Uso messed with Cena and then AJ Styles which led to both of them joining forces to take on The Bloodline. Last week on SmackDown, just before the contract signing for the tag team match, AJ Styles was brutally attacked by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa and was rushed to the hospital. This led to fans speculating as to who would take Styles’ spot at Fastlane.

And that was answered last night on SmackDown when LA Knight entered the ring and destroyed The Bloodline single-handedly. Fans went crazy when Knight’s music started playing as they knew he was going to sign the contract. The other time fans went crazy that night was when Seth Rollins wrestled against ‘The Ring General’ Gunther in a dark match.

Sadly just as Rollins was about to pin Gunther, Imperium interfered and the match was called off. But post the match, Rollins spoke to the fans to remind them how exciting the show was. He said, “Guys, you got LA Knight, guys you got the greatest of all time, John Cena, I say you got yourselves the Universal Champi-oh,” poking fun at the fact that Reigns was nowhere to be seen. This is also the 2nd time that Rollins has fired shots at Reigns for not being present in the WWE.

But fans need not be disappointed as Roman Reigns will soon be defending his title.

Roman Reigns will defend his title against Sami Zayn on 14th October

Roman Reigns has been out of action for more than a month now. Not because of a certain injury, but Reigns is having his much-needed vacation.

But now that he is fully rejuvenated, he will return to the WWE on 14th October to wrestle Sami Zayn in a house show. The show will take place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

18,000 fans are collectively going to lose their minds the moment The Tribal Chief says, “Acknowledge Me!”. We will only have to wait till 14th October to see if Zayn can break Roman Reigns’ title run.
