Humility makes an individual worth being around. Although it’s good to be proud of your achievements, people who think too highly of themselves might find their social relationships deteriorating. A good balance between the two is what a person should strive for. And according to American comedian Rob Bartlett, the WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan humors himself enough.

Bartlett recently sat down in an interview. There he exposed Hulk Hogan’s behavior behind the curtain. Bartlett implies that Hogan is completely different than his on-screen characters. In fact, Hogan also proved Bartlett’s assumption wrong when the two eventually met each other.

How is Hulk Hogan in real life?

A video posted by ‘WrestlingNewsCo’ features Rob Bartlett in an interview. A certain clip from the interview caught our attention out of the rest of the video. This clip featured the comedian’s recollection of his encounter with Hogan. He opened the topic by calling the Hall of Famer “nice“, “kind“, and “supportive“.

He also mentioned how both of them talked about Hollywood Hogan’s movies, as he had already seen ‘Mr. Nanny’ and ‘Suburban Commando’, two of Hulk Hogan’s well-known movies.

He was really, really nice to me. And no reason to be. He could’ve played the big-time Hollywood star and looked down on those who weren’t him. But no. He was very welcoming,” said Rob Bartlett. At first, Bartlett had assumed Hogan to play a card where he gets away from a conversation by looking down at those whom he considers less successful than him. However, contrary to his assumption, the Hall of Famer turned out to be a ‘down-to-earth’ individual.

Despite his several achievements, Bartlett claims Hogan does not look down on others. He owns his achievements and keeps them to himself.

From being bullied to becoming a global icon

Hulk Hogan wasn’t always an athletic kid. The WWE Hall of Famer, born in 1953, was a ‘fat kid’ during his childhood days. He has also claimed publicly that he was bullied in his childhood. Moreover, he never removed his shirt on the beach until he turned 19 because the taunts that he received had deeply damaged his self-esteem.

He eventually became passionate about the sport of ‘baseball’ by the time his high school life swung in. Hogan played on the school team and was even scouted by ‘Cincinnati Reds’ and ‘New York Yankees’ when he was in 10th and 11th grade.

However, due to a last-moment injury, he couldn’t do well enough and eventually lost interest in the game. It wasn’t until 1977 that Hogan entered pro wrestling. The Hulkster became a popular name in the business after he joined WWE in 1983. Since then, he didn’t take a step back and kept on going. Now, Hulk Hogan is a legendary retired pro wrestler and also a global icon. And according to people like Rob Bartlett, he doesn’t boast about a thing.
