On the back of a blockbuster Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, the action-packed Monday Night Raw kicked in. Basking in the glory of his recent victory, Seth Rollins addressed his fans. Just the next moment, AJ Styles made his entry, leaving the crowd expectant. The man who received a defeat from ‘The Visionary’ days ago eventually joined forces with him and exchanged some words of mutual respect before turning their heads to Judgement Day.

Styles’ sudden appearance to team up with his Night of Champions opponent seemed very sportive to some. Contrarily, it was held of no importance to others. WWE Hall of Famer goes with the second group, believing that Styles’ interference in Rollins’ business made little to no sense at all. Bully Ray, who has been an open advocate for Rollins for some time now, wanted him to take the top billing spot, getting the better of Dominik Mysterio alone on the first night of him as a champion.

At the start of the match, it seemed like we were about to see Dominik teaming up with Damien Priest to take on the Raw heavyweight champion and Styles. But it didn’t end up that way, with Finn Balor jumping Rollins from behind, making it a one-to-one affair between them. However, after a lot of swapping, AJ Styles and Rollins got the upper hand on Balor and Priest via pinfall, making them pay for the interruption.

But despite that, the showdown didn’t sit well with Bully Ray, especially with Styles being on the scene alongside Rollins. Explaining his stance, the 51-year-old noted during the latest episode of Busted Open podcast,” AJ Styles was so unnecessary last night. Not that I don’t like AJ. Don’t love seeing him wrestle. And start the show, with Seth Rollins going out there, doing his thing, and reexplaining his mission statement. I said that I was gonna make this championship.. more popular than Roman’s championship… I said I was going to do this and do that. And that’s exactly what I plan to do on Night 1 on Monday Night Raw as your new heavyweight champion.”

However, Ray isn’t the only one to downplay Styles’ presence in the segment.

Vince Russo is also not sold on AJ Styles’ appearance at this week’s Raw

The former WWE writer Vince Russo is still baffled regarding how AJ Styles made it on Raw, despite being drafted to SmackDown weeks ago. The former intercontinental champion had Rollins back in vanquishing the nefarious faction.

On the contrary, there was not even a single Bloodline member present in the episode because of being a part of the other roster. Russo had trouble making out the whole scenario.

The former head writer concluded that the company is already giving up on the idea of two separate rosters. For Russo, the WWE Draft is nothing but an eyewash for attaining higher ratings.
