AJ Styles is set to face off against his most recent foe at WrestleMania 40. However, this is not the only thing that he is excited about. There have been rumors about a Japanese superstar joining WWE’s active roster soon. Styles is looking forward to seeing his former co-worker in the same workplace again, particularly because he is aware of his potential.

The superstar in question is Tama Tonga, who was last tied to NJPW. At Wrestle Kingdom 18, the Japanese wrestler announced his departure from the promotion. Reportedly, he could soon be WWE-bound. This rumor excites AJ Styles.

Tonga was last seen in NJPW in February at ‘The New Beginning In Sapporo 2024’. Since then, he hasn’t revealed where he is going to go. However, shedding light on the topic on the latest episode of the Battleground Podcast, the WWE superstar showed his excitement for the same.

The wrestler said, “I know how good Tama is. So the fact that he may be coming over would be awesome. I was hoping that he’d come over a long time ago, but he, you know, he didn’t have any interest back then. So if there’s interest now, he’s making the right decision.

Styles worked with Tonga, as they were both once Bullet Club members. The former knows the ex-NJPW star’s skills. He revealed that Tonga got a similar opportunity in the past but didn’t take it. So, the WWE star is now looking forward to seeing him in the company. After all, there have been reports of the Tongan wrestler signing with WWE.

If Tama Tonga does end up appearing in WWE, there is a chance that he could come after Roman Reigns and his ‘Bloodline’.

Since WrestleMania 40 is just around the corner, we might see the founding Bullet Club member show up at the biggest PLE of the year. If the Stamford-based company is looking for the best opportunity to introduce Haku’s son to the promotion, the upcoming show in Philadelphia could be the perfect chance.

Tama Tonga has already faced off against The Tribal Chief during a social media heat between the two. So, he might appear as the next threat to The Bloodline after Cody Rhodes has finished his story at Mania this year.

Some fans were confused about whether Reigns and Tonga are related by blood. Despite the fact that he is Haku’s adopted son, the Tongan and Samoan lineage is still different, making the two wrestlers unrelated by blood.
