The Austin Theory and Grayson Waller team have gotten over as one of the most loved heels in the WWE. Despite their cocky attitude, brash nature toward fans, and online beef, they have been entertaining. However, since WrestleMania XL, fans have noticed a rift between the two, and speculation of a breakup is high. Furthermore, the two are SmackDown’s tag team champions, so how will the cracks in their team affect their work?
Waller and Theory formed their alliance on a September 2023 episode of SmackDown. Calling themselves A-Town Down Under, the duo has had some incredible matches and wins in the WWE. However, they have not always been on the same page.

Leave it to Waller to continue being a heel where he doesn’t need to! Waller is infamous for fueling a negative sentiment towards him, unlike his tag team partner. Whether on social media or in the ring, he knows what to say to get under your skin. While the duo were part of an interview, they talked about wrestling in France ahead of WWE Backlash. The two defended their titles against The Street Profits on SmackDown the night before Backlash. Taking place in France, the audience loved their theme song. However, Waller didn’t like that.

Notably, Theory was excited to hear the fans sing his song, while Waller said, “Austin Theory is a nice guy. He enjoys doing things for the fans, but that ain’t me.” It clearly shows who the babyface is and who the heel is when the duo inevitably breaks up.
Furthermore, this would not be the first time Waller acted like a heel to his partner Theory.

During the Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia, Waller and Theory sat down with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Orchestrated by the Wiseman Paul Heyman, the duo was supposed to make the babyfaces look inferior. Despite being in his hometown, Waller couldn’t get the crowd to hate on Rhodes or Rollins.
However, Theory tried his best Dwayne Johnson impression, leading to a beatdown. What was interesting to see is Waller didn’t aid his future tag partner. He stood aside and watched Rhodes and Rollins hit Theory with their finishers. It set the stage for a possible betrayal in the future. What do you think? Will Waller turn on Theory?
