Before Dwayne Johnson became a wrestling icon, he was a popular college football player. The Rock was a defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes in 1991. Although Johnson spent his college days in destitution, he has now recruited a group of famous college athletes to promote and represent his energy drink, ZOA. And one of his recruits is none other than NCAA’s Most Outstanding Player, Angel Reese.
The Hollywood mogul launched ZOA in 2020 with his business partners, Danny Garcia, John Shulman, and Dave Rienzi. 2020 was also the year when Johnson launched his liquor brand, Tereman Tequila, which is earning him millions today.

The inaugural class of “The Rock’s Warriors” has been enlisted. The list was revealed on Wednesday by Johnson himself. The annual NIL program features top college athletes from various sports. As noted, Dwayne Johnson was also a college athlete whose dream was to make a name for himself in football. Although he was not destined to make it in the NFL, he made good in WWE, Hollywood, and business, becoming a powerful brand.
The inaugural group of “The Rock’s Warriors” includes two athletes from college basketball, Angel Reese (Louisiana State University) and Hansel Emanuel (Austin Peay State University), one athlete from college softball, Amaya Gainer (Florida A&M), and four athletes from college football, Brock Bowers (University of Georgia), Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State University), Drake Maye (University of North Carolina), and Kam Kinchens (University of Miami).
Taking to Instagram, LSU’s Angel Reese shared glad tidings with her fans, expressing her excitement over being one of the seven athletes handpicked by The Great One. She wrote, “I am extremely proud to announce I am one of seven incredible and diverse athletes chosen by @therock and @zoaenergy for the inaugural class of The Rock’s Warriors. I am very excited for what’s to come and supporting my fellow warriors in their seasons. Now, let’s FUEL. SOMETHING. BIGGER.”
It’s worth noting that, while college athletes are indebted to Dwayne Johnson’s NIL program, a certain UFC fighter recently took shots at him for seemingly not paying him anything for promoting his Project Rock shoes.
Nonetheless, Reese’s post was well received by her fans, who showed nothing but love and support for her.

Known as NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, Angel Reese is arguably the most popular player on LSU’s National Championship team. With basketball deeply ingrained in her DNA, Reese gained national prominence after she led the Tigers to victory over The Iowa Hawkeyes.
Reese also sparked controversy after she taunted Caitlin Calrk with John Cena’s “You can’t see me” gesture. Anyway, here are a few reactions on Instagram-
