The Massachusetts native has successfully helped numerous children suffering from critical illnesses realize their wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His philanthropic work is well-documented, however, not many fans would know about the weirdest wish that their beloved wrestler has been a part of.

There’s no denying that along with winning multiple WWE Championships, Cena went on to win people’s hearts as well, especially those of kids. His oozing charisma and charm have attracted fans from all age groups. And for children, he isn’t just any popular wrestler, but someone who could do everything—a Superman. Hence, they are always up for spending time with their hero. One such rendezvous ended up being the weirdest of them, and recently, The Champ opened up about it. 

John Cena shares his wildest Make-A-Wish story

Speaking on Wishkey Ginger with Andre Santino, an interesting question was thrown at Cena. He was asked to share a wild story related to his philanthropic work. In response, Cena recalled an amusing story.

He said, “Well, I had tea with a with a young lady, I had tea with [her] imaginary friend. It was just like an imaginary tea. A small table, she was very well dressed, she brought her stuffed animal friends.

“We set the whole table and we had tea and we spoke. It was great. […] The conversation was great, imaginary crumpets, fantastic.

Listening to the anecdote, it’s clear that the 45-year-old is a bit of childhood in him. This funny yet cute story will once again make all Cena fans fall more in love with the Cenation leader. 

This must be one of the weirdest Make-A-Wish encounters that The Champ has been a part of in his 21 years of working with the foundation. However, something that stands out even more is all that he has achieved in these years.

The Champ’s charity work earned him a prestigious accolade

There are many wrestlers involved with the Make-A-Wish foundation to provide a wide smile on the faces of critically ill children. However, there’s only one wrestler who made his entry into the Guinness Book of World Records for his charity work. 

Yes, it is the 16-time World Champion John Cena who entered the Guinness Book after granting 650 wishes, which is much higher than anyone else. This prestigious accolade shows how much it means for him to spread smiles.

Though Cena was not very vocal about his charity work early on in his career, he became more so later on. He even revealed the reason behind talking about it moreIt is our hope that the great wrestler’s work inspires other such personalities.
