NJPW has seen the departure of several of its most prominent talents in recent months. The most recent have been Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga. Tanga Loa made his surprise return to the WWE during the Backlash PLE, while Tama Tonga made his WWE debut on Friday Night SmackDown the night after WrestleMania 40. Tonga joined the Endeavor-owned company after several discussions with them. But he wasn’t the only one.
WWE also contacted his brother Hikuleo, as confirmed by Tonga himself, in an interview with Fightful a few months ago. And now it seems like the NJPW star could also be a part of the WWE, as hinted by his latest tweet, as well as his contract situation.

The fans in attendance at WWE Backlash as well as the ones at home were stunned when they saw Tanga Loa make his WWE return. The NJPW star helped Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga defeat Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in the opening bout of the event. This moment prompted reactions from around the world, including Hikuleo, as he reacted to the moment with a single emoji. But now it seems like he, too, can join his brothers.

According to Fightful, Hikuleo’s current contract with NJPW expires in June. At the moment, it is unknown if both parties have entered into talks for the signing of a new agreement. Early last year, reports suggested that WWE entered into talks with Tama Tonga and Hikuleo regarding a possible hire. However, the return of Vince McMahon to sell the company brought all negotiations to a halt.

Currently, the former STRONG Openweight champion is focused on his career as a tag team wrestler alongside El Phantasmo. However, the latter’s contract with the Japanese company expired last January. Hikuleo and El Phantasmo continue to work at NJPW as a team. So the Canadian would have reached some agreement with the company. Both were part of the Windy City Riot, the PPV that the Japanese company held in the city of Chicago last Friday.
Hikuleo, 33, made his NJPW debut in 2016 after training at Team 3D Academy, NJPW Dojo, and Fale Dojo. He has also appeared in IMPACT Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. He is the brother of Tama Tonga and the nephew of Haku, who adopted him as his son. The wrestler has shown interest in working for other companies in the United States, such as IMPACT Wrestling. Hikuleo claimed to have had a great time at the Anthem Media company, ensuring he never experienced stress or politics in the locker room. So what do you think?
