Dominik Mysterio had a rough night on Monday Night Raw. After a week’s anticipation of his awaited showdown against the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, things turned ugly for him in no time. Not only did Rhodes own him during their opening segment, but he defeated Dominik in a remarkably quick time, insulting the young star. However, it seems like there is another superstar waiting to rub salt in his wounds.
As Dom is a holder of the NXT North American title, a promising NXT star has called him out on social media with a vicious message ahead of their clash on NXT.

The member of the Judgement Day had a bitter outing, one that he would like to forget soon, despite making bold claims before Raw aired.
After being all alone this week, without his partner in crime, Rhea Ripley, the champion, felt out of place. The result is him getting destroyed by Rhodes on the mic, as it’s usually Ripley who does the talking. Add to that, the crowd expressing their displeasure every time he spoke wasn’t doing favors for his confidence, either.
But things ended worse as he lost to Rhodes in their matchup, further halting his momentum. Now, to add insult to injury, current NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, has sent out a bold message to Dom on his social media, mocking him about his quick loss. On his X handle, Hayes hyped up their upcoming champion vs. champion fight at NXT, but also mentioned how his opponent will face 2 L’s in 24 hours.

This certainly doesn’t help the young athlete. To further taint his night, it seems unlikely for Ripley to show up against his match on NXT, making Dom all alone in this battle. Unfortunately, that’s not the only blow the star faced on Raw.
A horrible outing for the rising star
Losing to a Rhodes-like opponent isn’t embarrassing, but the time and manner of his defeat sparked debate.
The 26-year-old hardly got any chance to mount any offense as he got laid out by Rhodes in less than 3 minutes to open the show. Later, after the main event, the 38-year-old delivered another Cross Rhodes and destroyed him in the process to close the show.

To compound his worries, he will defend his title against Dragon Lee in Lee’s first Raw match next week. And with Mami out with injury, it’ll prove to be extremely tough for him to retain his title, but only time will tell.
