After Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch’s WWE Contract Status Takes Unexpected Turn Ahead of King and Queen of the Ring

This year will mark the end of a multitude of contracts in WWE. Because of this, the company has been renewing some of its top talents, such as Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Drew McIntyre. It should be remembered that WWE signed five-year deals with a multitude of superstars in 2019. So the company will have a lot to decide and negotiate in the coming months.

This includes one of the most prominent and influential female talents of the last decade, Becky Lynch, who recently became the new WWE Women’s World Champion. This, coupled with the recent renewal of Seth Rollins (her husband and also a WWE superstar), led many to assume that the Irishwoman had reached a new agreement with the company. However, both sides have not yet agreed to a new contract. But why hasn’t she signed a new contract yet? And when does it expire? The answer to these questions and more lies ahead, so brace yourself.

Becky Lynch’s contract situation with the WWE

Becky Lynch is the only major WWE star whose contract expires in 2024 and is still not renewed, something that Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, or Seth Rollins, Lynch’s partner in real life, have done. Although she has expressed that WWE is like her “home” and she wants to continue, there is no new information about her contract renewal situation although it expires shortly.

This was pointed out by Sean Ross Sappon in the Fightful report. As they confirmed that Lynch continues to work for WWE with her ongoing contract. As the contract will expire in approximately three weeks, the outlet adds that both sides are still holding talks on the matter. However, they have not yet signed anything. It seems unlikely that the Irishwoman will leave the company. So it would be quite a surprise if the negotiations did not come to fruition.

They wrote, “Last year, Fightful Select reported that Becky Lynch’s contract is up in June 2024. Since then, much has been made about her future, in addition to her husband, Seth Rollins. Fightful revealed recently that Rollins has a new, big money, multi-year contract that he’s signed. However, Becky Lynch does not.” They further added, “Lynch is still on her previous contract, has not signed a new deal, despite being Women’s World Champion. There have been ongoing conversations regarding a new deal. However, as things stand, Becky Lynch’s contract with WWE is up in roughly three weeks.”

It is worth noting that a similar situation occurred when the WWE did not renew the contract of Seth Rollins. And seeing that ‘The Man’ is the women’s champion proves the WWE’s trust in her capabilities. So it seems unlikely that the promotion would let her go.

At the moment, the fighter is scheduled to defend the world championship against Liv Morgan at WWE King and Queen of the Ring. The PLE will be held on May 25 in Saudi Arabia.
