WWE and wrestling fans in general, are pretty hyped about WWE 2K24 releasing this year. The beloved wrestling games based on WWE gained attention from fans and gamers after 2K Entertainment took over the franchise. Known for reinventing other sports games like 2K NBA, fans can’t wait to see what this year’s installment brings.

To build the hype up for 2K24, the WWE has been teasing who may be on the game’s cover. Last year, it was John Cena. This year, Cody Rhodes is a popular choice. However, the WWE has also hinted at others.

The one hint that has been part of WWE 2K24’s promotional material has been 1.22.24. This could be the launch event where more details about the game will be shared. Last year, around the same time, the game developers announced Cena to be gracing the cover. Similarly, this year could be no different.

Taking to her social media, the WWE Women’s Champ, Rhea Ripley, posted the same date. Her image with the caption, “😈 1.22.24 #WWE2K24.”  Her use of the evil emoji left fans wondering if she could be hinting at something. Die Hard fans of ‘The Eradicator’ would love to see her grace the cover of this year’s installment.

As the days pass by and we get closer to the mentioned date on the promotional material, fans’ excitement is through the rough. Each WWE 2K game has been better than the last, with a few hiccups along the way. With a massive roster and hints of returning match types, this year’s game is set to break records. While the game’s release date is yet to be mentioned, fans expect more news around the time of the Royal Rumble.

What fans can expect from the new game

While the only new game mode is the Special Guest Referee, which was confirmed recently, not much else is known. The game’s announcement will take place alongside the Royal Rumble. 2K may release the game cover or announce which star will be gracing it.
