Cody Rhodes' Nike Kobe shoes on SmackDown—better than Roman Reigns' Jordans? What do you think?

Roman Reigns made every wrestling fan happy when he showed up at SummerSlam this year. Not only did he lay a much-deserving beating on The Bloodline, but he decided to do it in style. Cody Rhodes couldn’t help but watch as the Original Tribal Chief unleashed his wrath during his main event match and it seems he had picked up on a thing or two. The American Nightmare, two weeks after his biggest rival’s WWE return, showed up on SmackDown wearing new Nike shoes that he hadn’t been spotted with before. In a way, he was influenced by Roman Reigns.

Many stars from the active WWE roster come out in the arena wearing Nike. Roman Reigns did it recently at SummerSlam when he came down the ramp laced up with Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low. These shoes were not related to any theme but just looked good on him.

Cody Rhodes also showed up on Friday Night SmackDown 08/16, He had a segment in the ring with Kevin Owens. This was when, if you pay attention, you can see him wearing a fantastic pair of footwear. He adorned Nike Kobe 4 Protro Gold during the Friday Night show.

Cody Rhodes ended up siding with Owens at the time. However, the two will still face each other down the road at Bash in Berlin this year. As for Roman Reigns, the charm that his Nike sneakers gave him has worn off as evident in the final segment of the last SmackDown.

Roman Reigns has run out of luck

After SummerSlam 2o24, Roman Reigns returned to the promotion on the next SmackDown episode on 08/09. Although he didn’t succeed in his goal of retrieving the Ula Fala back then, he could fight against the rogue Bloodline in a way that he made it back this Friday as well. However, it looks like he will have a tough time getting up next week because of what went down on the 08/16 edition of SmackDown.

The Original Tribal Chief tried his best to teach Solo Sikoa a lesson. He almost succeeded in his mission and had put the Ula Fala around his neck as well, but things went south from there. Jacob Fatu ambushed Roman Reigns and the royal garland was no longer around his neck.

The Bloodline 2.0 continued destroying its former leader and he couldn’t help but accept his fate towards the end of the segment. It looks like the charm that the Nike shoes were giving him only worked for one more week after SmackDown. This means that the former WWE Universal Champion might require some assistance. We are yet to uncover who his new ally will be and when will he show up.
