In a significant development, another LWO member apart from Rey Mysterio has committed their long-term future to WWE. According to various WWE sources, Zelina Vega has signed a new multi-year contract with the business.. This extension follows the recent Endeavor takeover of WWE, signifying continued commitment from key talents.

PWInsider has confirmed the news of her signing the contract with WWE. Having originally joined WWE in 2017 under an NXT deal, she has remained a consistent presence. Notably, she began as a manager for Andrade before transitioning to in-ring competition. She was released in late 2020 but was brought back eight months later in the summer of 2021.

Why is Vega’s contract renewal significant?

The LWO star’s decision marks a renewed faith in the company after the initial tussles that led to her release in 2020. Vega has an active Twitch channel and was vocal in her disapproval of WWE’s decision to ban wrestlers from using third-party platforms in 2020. This led her to begin a crusade towards unionization, but those plans fell through, and she later rejoined the WWE. According to reports, the company has since decided to allow third-party participation on a case-by-case basis for talent.

As a member of the LWO, Vega showcased her talents in a high-profile match against Rhea Ripley at Backlash earlier this year. Her exceptional acting skills during the angle involving Santos Escobar turning on Rey Mysterio garnered internal praise. This latest contract extension reflects WWE’s commitment to retaining valuable talent within its roster.
