Brock Lesnar is still a massive draw to WWE. He had an extended run in the company after WrestleMania 39 this year. After his loss at SummerSlam, fans were told he would not be seen until ‘Mania season again next year. This led to speculations about his contract with the WWE.

Many fans claim that he has a verbal contract with the WWE as no other star has the leniency that Lesnar has. Now, a new report sheds light on the whole situation to put rumors to rest.

During his second run in the company after his UFC stint, Brock Lesnar has been a part-timer. He appears, takes up a feud, gets done, and goes on a hiatus. Many have claimed that he’s on a verbal contract with WWE with nothing in writing. Now, thanks to a new report, we know the truth.

After the feud with Rhodes that started after WrestleMania this year and ended at SummerSlam, Lesnar took time off from the WWE. Some indicated that he would return to the UFC. However, Dana White was quick to shoot that down. Given Lesnar’s stature in the company and the regard he is held in many have speculated that ‘The Beast’ is on a verbal contract, but that myth is now busted.

Steve Carrier of Ringsidenews took to his social media to post an update on the situation. He claimed that a tenured confirmed, “Brock Lesnar has no verbal agreements. His contract with WWE is in writing.” This confirms that Lesnar is on a written contract basis with the WWE, not just a verbal one. With the number of times Lesnar has disappeared from the WWE for months on end, it is natural for fans to speculate about the nature of his agreement. 

Before the report, it was claimed that Lesnar had a verbal agreement with the WWE. This agreement allowed Lesnar to stay with the WWE until WrestleMania 41 in 2025.

There was no news that Lesnar would stay with the company following that period. Fans have noticed Lesnar’s airtime on WWE media has significantly reduced since his return.

Lesnar’s long break until WrestleMania 40

In 2023, Lesnar had six matches in the WWE, starting at the Royal Rumble till SummerSlam. Of these six matches, Lesnar won only two, the first at WrestleMania 39 against Omos and Night of Champions against Rhodes. After his loss to Rhodes, Lesnar took a break from the WWE, with Dave Meltzer stating that no slots were booked for Lesnar till ‘Mania season.

Rumors were that he would appear at the Saudi Arabia Event, but it has not been confirmed.

Despite his second run lasting longer than the first, his matches and appearances on WWE broadcasting have lessened. In his book Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival, Lesnar revealed the immortal words Mr. Perfect told him during his developmental years. These words could be why Lesnar doesn’t dedicate all his time and effort to the WWE as he did before. Despite his limited number of matches on the network, Lesnar is still among the highest-paid stars in the company.
