Cody Rhodes is amidst a bitter feud with Brock Lesnar. This past Monday on RAW, the 38-year-old issued a bold challenge to The Beast Incarnate, urging him to meet him in person and have a “rubber match”. It looks like Rhodes will have his wish fulfilled very soon.

However, it might not go down well for The American Nightmare, who will be on the upcoming episode of RAW, emanating from his hometown in Georgia. Here’s why it could go pear-shaped for Cody Rhodes at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on July 17.

They say one gets wiser with age. But that one isn’t Brock Lesnar. While he possesses the smarts to work his opponents, Lesnar has been more dominant with age. For him, it’s older and stronger. Today marks the 46th birthday of the WWE icon. Alongside Rhodes, he has also been advertised for the upcoming RAW episode.

During one of the recent episodes of RAW, Rhodes managed to humiliate Lesnar, forcing him to vacate the ring in a rare occurrence. The WWE Universe is well versed with the birthday boy and if he plays by his book, Rhodes’ homecoming might not be too sweet an affair. If he gets there, Lesnar will avenge his public humiliation.

It would also be a post-birthday gift that the former WWE Champion would like to present himself. Lesnar is also yet to address Rhodes’ challenge. On the last episode of RAW, the 38-year-old had said that he wants a rubber match with his current nemesis at WWE SummerSlam.

“Brock Lesnar, nothing would make me happier than next week if you came to this ring, if you shook my hand, if you knew that this wasn’t personal,” Rhodes said in his promo.

Cody Rhodes vows to play the same game

Like most of the WWE Universe, Cody Rhodes too is still in the dark about Brock Lesnar’s motive behind the brutal attack on the April 3 episode of RAW. It set a feud between the two stars, taking Rhodes’ attention away from Roman Reigns, who beat him at WrestleMania 39.

Rhodes and Lesnar have met twice before, at Backlash- where Rhodes had a surprising win, and at Night of Champions- where Lesnar managed to pick up the win, but it wasn’t clean. Now, The Prince of Pro Wrestling wants closure. He said he’s going to play the same game against his current rival.

“I’m gonna pop you in the side of the ear, I’m gonna hit you with chairs, I’m gonna pick up steps and I’m gonna finish the chapter that you started for no d**n reason,” Rhodes said on RAW.

He said the reason was simple: if he manages to beat Lesnar and make the score 2-1 in his favor, he’ll be the next in line. “It’s because what comes from that fight, what emerges from that cloud of dust, is simple, that guy is next in line and the prince doesn’t want to be the prince forever. I wanna be, I will be next in line,” he said.
