Edge had the last laugh against Finn Balor at WWE WrestleMania 39. The two of them competed in a dangerous Hell in a Cell match, which resulted in a severe head injury to Balor. Recently, The Rated R superstar took to social media to share his feelings after the humongous victory. On his 14th ‘Mania performance, Edge felt lucky to have landed Finn Balor as an opponent and heaped praise on The Judgement Day member.

Edge considered Finn Balor as one of his toughest opponents

In his latest Instagram post, Edge confessed his appreciation about Finn Balor, after their Hell In a Cell match at WrestleMania 39. Edge wrote “ I’m also lucky to have had an absolutely amazing opponent in @finnbalor One of the very best. And one of the toughest s.o.b’s I’ve ever stepped in the ring with. Yes, he’s that good.” in praise of his opponent, who survived a nasty head injury.

Therefore, after months of rivalry, Balor has earned the respect of the Rated R Superstar. Moreover, Edge even hailed him as ‘one of the very best’, which is a high honor, coming from a veteran of the pro wrestling industry.

The former WWE champion thanked his team, his wife Beth Phoenix, and others for helping him pull off a successful run. Edge felt proud of the story they all told and considered this to have reached a conclusion.

The Rated R superstar wrote “Mission Accomplished” and delivered an emotional note to his fans and followers. However, the champion must’ve felt awful about the head injury he inflicted on his opponent.

The Judgment Day leader received 14-stitches on his head

During the match, Edge used a ladder against his Irish opponent, which lead to a severe head injury. Moreover, the match was halted as Balor received medical attention. Later on Twitter, Balor updated he received 14 stitches, to seal the head injury.

The graphic images show how deep the cut went and how painful it must’ve been for the WWE superstar. Therefore, Balor earned respect for his discipline to not panic and complete the match.

Fans along with Edge commended Balor’s pain tolerance and dedication to go through that nasty injury. Many fans applauded ‘The Judgment Day’ leader for giving one great Hell in a Cell match, along with Edge. Ultimately, despite the loss, Balor gained an immense wave of support, through his actions on the big night.
